Our fitness classes reflect the needs of our community and all conveniently located in the village.

NO CONTRACTS. Fitness classes are taught in teaching terms:

Our variety of affordable fitness classes range from high to low impact training.

Term One: 5 February – 12 April 2024

Term Two: 29 April – 5 July 2024

Term Three: 22 July – 27 September 2024

Term Four: 14 October – 13 December 2024

TRAINING RISKS

We offer group fitness classes designed for those without medical conditions or other impairments. All types of training carries risk, especially if you have not exercised for a while. Please consult your Doctor if you have any concerns prior to starting a class or if you become concerned during the teaching term.

What to Bring to a Class

  • A workout towel or mat (to put over the one supplied) and water bottle
  • Wear loose fitting clothes and appropriate shoes (barefoot some classes)

Cancellation

To keep our fitness classes small and affordable we rely on students committing for the full teaching term. If you cannot complete the teaching term we do not refund partway.

Classes Descriptions – PLEASE BE ON TIME


Pilates  – we have TWO levels available

Improve muscles mass, core strength and flexibility. Pilates is a safe exercise system that will help you look and feel your best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and functional movement. Classes also tones your body, improves your balance and co-ordination. We have two levels available:

Level One: Pilates Beginners (60 mins)

Venue: Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $15/class on a school term basis

For students starting their fitness journey. We help you master the fundamentals to ensure you achieve the best results from a regular practice.

Level Two: Pilates Intermediate (60 mins)

Venue: Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $15/class on a school term basis

For students with a medium to high level of fitness. Further your body awareness whilst reshaping muscles to create a more youthful looking body. Go on to explore your body’s full capability. Classes are designed to challenge the edge of your fitness.

Yoga and Qigong (60 mins)

Venue: Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $15/class on a school term basis

Qigong coordinates breathing techniques with slow repetitions of fluid moment to build strength, balance and flexibility. It is a very powerful method to maintain a healthy spine and retain a youthful, healthy body. Popular for over 2,000 years in China, traditionally Qigong was viewed also as a practice to cultivate and balance your inner life energy.

Yin yoga works deeply into your body by holding a series of passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body (hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine). By targeting the deepest tissues of the body rather than just the muscles you achieve a more lean phasic. During classes students are also encouraged to work with Qi and explore a more holistic side to fitness.

Yoga and Fascia (60 mins)

Fascia is fibrous connective tissue that wraps and supports muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, organs, nerves – pretty much everything – giving our body form and structure. It has many sensors for movement, position, tension, pressure and pain, making it our largest sensory organ. Fascia therefore plays a major role in our body so it’s important to keep it healthy through fascia-focused exercises. In class we combine the flowing movement of gentle yoga, the static hold of postures, and the use of equipment like foam rollers, to target fascia and achieve myofascial release.

Yoga Flow (60 mins)

Venue: Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $15/class on a school term basis

This is a dynamic, full body yoga class. We take you through mindful movement to support mobility by creating strong and flexible joints. Through both seated and standing postures we also build strength, increase flexibility and help you to relieve tension.

Stretch (45 mins)

Venue: Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $13/class on a school term basis

Stretching at any age keeps your muscles flexible, strong and healthy. We need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight, making physical tasks more difficult.

BodyTone (60 mins)

Venue: Muritai Croquet Club
Rate: $15/class on a school term basis

BodyTone is a dynamic program designed to achieve overall fitness and health. Drawing inspiration from the latest cutting edge industry methods and techniques, the sessions incorporate a variety of exercises and equipment to effectively tone muscles, build strength, increase flexibility, train balance and improve your posture. Low impact means you can work out at your own pace whilst still being challenged. Suitable for all fitness levels. Sessions include a warm-up and stretching component. Bring your own Swiss Ball if you have one.

Strength Training (45 mins)

Venue: Tues class at Muritai Croquet Club; Thurs class at Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $13/class on a school term basis

Time to build those muscles and develop great core strength! As we age our bodies naturally lose muscle. This muscle tissue loss results in a decreasing metabolic rate and a drop in overall body shape. The good news is, you can do something about it.

This program will help you increase muscular strength, muscular endurance, power, speed, coordination, balance and flexibility.

For weight loss: The key to helping eliminate accumulated body fat is getting back your youthful metabolism by regaining muscle through strength training.

Based on the latest research in calisthenics an isometric training.

Chair Fitness (45 mins)

Venue: Muritai Croquet Club
Rate: $13/class on a school term basis

A 45-minute chair based exercise class for people with balance issues using body weight, light weights and resistance bands to strengthen the core and other muscles as well as improve flexibility, balance and co-ordination. All ages welcome.

Active Seniors (60 mins)

Venue: Muritai Croquet Club
Rate: $15 on a school term basis 

Maintaining balance, co-ordination and core strength are important for overall health and fitness as we get older. Active Seniors are classes which focus on a variety of exercises that are standing, sitting and lying on a mat. We also use stability balls, resistance bands and light weights.

Core Strength Training (45 mins)

Venue: Eastbourne Library, Boardroom Level 1
Rate: $13/class on a school term basis

Your core is essential for maintaining body equilibrium to assist proper movement. A strong core also protects vital organs and  provides internal pressure that supports the spine. Build your core fitness, strength and power effectively and safely with our Core Strength Training.
